What benefits to expect when you stay at Hotel Indigo Milan – Corso Monforte as an IHG Platinum member?
Introduction
Hotel Indigo Milan – Corso Monforte opened in 2019 with a total of just 51 rooms. This property usually requires 30,000 to 55,000 points per night for award stays.
I redeemed a 40,000 points free night certificate that I received after completing 2 stays as a new member at Holiday Inn Bali Sanur. At the time of booking, this room was selling for about EUR 278 (US$298).
I also received Platinum status through a fast track offer, after completing 2 stays. However, unlike other hotel loyalty programs, benefits that come with IHG membership statuses are not great.
Location
The hotel is located in central Milan. Although it was close to a metro station, it was inconvenient to travel with luggages as there wasn’t a lift or escalator into the underground station.
- 5 mins walk to San Babila metro station
- 12 mins walk to Duomo di Milano
- 55 mins train to Malpensa Airport (MXP)
Arrival
The hotel has a really tiny entrance and lobby area. We arrived at 10.30am and was told that the room would only be ready at 1pm. We were able to leave our luggages at the reception.
As a Platinum member, I wasn’t offered any upgrade from the Standard Room; not that I was expecting any.
Standard Room
Room 110 is 20sqm / 215sqft in size.
As expected, it was a small room with a Queen-sized bed. The room from this boutique hotel was very clean and had interesting decor but it didn’t have a good view as it was facing the inner side of the building.

Internet speed
WiFi speed was just alright.
Other facilities
This property does not have a swimming pool.
The underground gym was really basic. It felt like the hotel placed some equipments there just to have the right to say that it has a gym.
My ratings
This is how I am rating my stay, after considering the hotel’s usual nightly rate (in points):
Service | 8/10 |
Location | 9/10 |
Room furnishing | 9/10 |
View (from the room) | 6/10 |
Peace & quiet | 9/10 |
Facilities | 6/10 |
Elite member recognition | 2/10 |
Value | 4/10 |
Bottom line
It was a fine stay in an overpriced hotel. It feels like the hotel’s key selling points are “location” and “boutique” but it doesn’t really excel in both areas. I can’t see myself paying the high cash rate to stay here again. Good when it’s free, skip if it’s not.
