Introduction
As of now, Saphire – Plaza Premium Lounge is the only third-party lounge available when departing from Jakarta’s Soekarno–Hatta International Airport (CGK).
Most airlines that are not partners of Garuda Indonesia offer access to this lounge to elite members and passengers flying in a premium class.
You can also pay to access this lounge but like most other airport lounges, this one is only good when it is free; unless if you really need a shower.
Side note: Unfortunately, there are no Priority Pass lounges in this international terminal at the moment, since the recent break-up with Plaza Premium.
The lounge
The lounge looked very modern with plenty of natural light and a great view of the apron.
There was a separate WiFi network that guests can connect to and the speed was very good.
Food options
As the airport is still transitioning to a post-pandemic world, there wasn’t an open buffet available during my visit. However, guests could order food and drinks (including alcoholic) from a small menu.
Post-COVID buffet
I’ve visited this lounge in June 2022 and found that food is once again served as a buffet with a small variety of hot food, pastries and light bites.
Top complimentary amenities
- WiFi
- Drinks (including alcoholic)
- Hot food
- Shower
Printing and photocopying can be requested at a fee.

Bottom line
It was a pleasant stay at Saphire – Plaza Premium Lounge but would love to see more lounge options for international departures from this airport but what we have now is not a bad one.
