Review: Saphire Plaza Premium Lounge Jakarta CGK Airport

This newly-opened lounge has gone through many changes with regard to F&B offerings and location since 2019. It’s great to finally see it in a permanent location!

How to access this lounge

I visited this lounge before my Singapore Airlines Business Class flight from Jakarta to Singapore, during my New Year road trip on California’s Highway One.

Travellers can also access this lounge through a Plaza Premium or Dragon Pass membership.

Travellers can also pay US$54 to gain entry to this lounge for 3 hours, but there’s little value in doing so.

Getting there

Saphire Plaza Premium Lounge at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is located airside, in Terminal 3, near Gate 7.

General areas

The lounge has modern decor and tall ceiling, which improves the overall “feel”. However, with the open, “cafe” concept that is adopted in the design of the lounge, there are hardly any private screens between seats.

Visitors may also book a shower room during their visit.

Food & Drinks

The lounge offers limited made-to-order dishes and a small selection of pastries, at no charge.

Selected bottled beers and wines are complimentary.

Having many transfer partners gives you fantastic flexibility. For this reason, I recommend using this card over other General Spending cards with similar earn rates.

Cardholders are also entitled to 4 free airport lounge visits (via DragonPass) per calendar year! For example, if you apply for the card in March 2023, you will get 4 free visits for the current year, plus 4 more free visits from 1 January the following year.

Bottom line

The newly-opened Saphire Plaza Premium Lounge Jakarta CGK Airport is a beautiful lounge with decent F&B options. However, because of the “open” concept and lack of privacy, I wouldn’t want to spend too much time here and would only use it for a quick meal, drink or shower before my flight.
