What benefits to expect when you stay at Aloft Abu Dhabi as a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium or Platinum Elite member?
The hotel opened in 2009 with a total of 408 rooms.
You will typically need 15,000 to 25,000 points per night for award stays.
I chose to stay in this hotel as it is located very close to Andaz Abu Dhabi, where I spent the following 2 nights in.
Location
The hotel is located in the Capital Gate area, next to Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
- 20 mins drive to Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH)
- 25 mins to Yas Marina Circuit and Ferrari World
Arrival
I flew into Abu Dhabi early in the morning and got in touch with the hotel through Marriott’s mobile app to request for an early check-in.
However, I knew that checking in at 8am was too much to ask and was prepared to wait at the lobby, after my marathon journey from Singapore, 38 hours prior.
To my surprise, I was assigned a room right away! Incredible status recognition, considering the high occupancy caused by the F1 event.
Platinum members and above receive 2 drink coupons per guest.
Pool View Room
Room 707 is 39sqm/420sqft in size.
This is the 5th Aloft property that I have reviewed and the room looked just like most others.
I also received welcome amenities in the form of macarons, chocolates and nuts.
Internet speed
The WiFi speed was great during my stay.
Breakfast
Breakfast is complimentary for Platinum members and above. It was held as a buffet at Dine restaurant.
The buffet offers a fair variety of food and made-to-order eggs.
Because of high occupancy levels, there was a line to enter the restaurant, closer to the end of the breakfast period.

My ratings
This is how I am rating my stay, after considering what I paid:
Breakfast | 8/10 |
Service | 10/10 |
Location | 7/10 |
Room furnishing | 8/10 |
View (from the room) | 8/10 |
Peace & quiet | 10/10 |
Facilities | 8/10 |
Elite member recognition | 10/10 |
Value | 8/10 |
Bottom line
Redeeming 20k points is a little steep for a night in an Aloft property. However, considering the ongoing F1 event, proximity to my next stay and fantastic elite member recognition, it was 20k points well spent!
