Review: Aloft Bali Kuta at Beachwalk (Aloft Pool View)

After multiple delays due to the pandemic, Aloft Bali Kuta at Beachwalk is finally opened for business and I was invited to the grand opening on 1 April 2022.

This Marriott Bonvoy property has a total of 175 rooms and usually charges 15,000 to 20,000 points per night for award stays.

Location

The hotel is located in Kuta and, like Sheraton Bali Kuta, is directly connected to Beachwalk Shopping Center.

• 1 min walk to Beachwalk Shopping Center
• 3 mins walk to Kuta Beach
• 15 mins drive to Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS)
• 1 hr 5 mins drive to Ubud Town

Arrival

Upon arrival, we had our temperatures taken and were assisted with our luggages before being directed to the reception.

My initial impression of the design and decor was great! The lobby and bar area was substantially bigger than what I saw at Aloft Bali Seminyak!

The unconventional welcome popsicle (instead of drink) was a fun and creative touch.

Aloft Pool View

Room 176 is 28sqm / 301sqft in size.

Although the room has a small floor area, I felt that the hotel did a great job in utilizing the available space.

The outdoor area is a nice bonus for rooms in this category on the first floor, on this side of the building. It certainly helped make the room feel larger. All rooms in this hotel come with a balcony.

Bath products from local brand, GoodVibes, smelled very premium for a hotel at this price point.

Platinum members and above get to choose a welcome gift of 500 points (worth US$3) or complimentary breakfast for 2 at DEPOT restaurant. I strongly recommend the latter!

There was an outstanding variety of food from the buffet and quality was great too.

Other facilities

The swimming pool was fairly large for a hotel of this size.

As mentioned earlier, W XYZ bar is located on the ground floor, near the lobby. Enjoy cocktails or a game of pool while listening to live band performances in the evenings.

How much does it cost to stay in Aloft Bali Kuta at Beachwalk?

At the time of writing, you can book a night at the hotel from IDR 950k nett (US$65). At this price point, I would give this hotel a value rating of 8.

The hotel’s convenient location will always be reflected in the nightly rate and I hope that it will not go much higher than what it is now.

Bottom line

This was yet another high-quality Marriott Bonvoy stay in Bali. Let’s hope that the hotel is able to maintain the outstanding standards that they’ve set right from the get-go while keeping room rates reasonable.
