How to find oneworld award availability

The easiest and quickest way to search for oneworld award availability is on American Airlines’ website, aa.com.

This is because, you will be able to set filters like “non-stop flights only”, “business class only” and no. of passengers, and have a lovely calendar view of the award availability.

Use aa.com only as a reference and ignore the miles indicated on the website.

When you see availability on aa.com, replicate the search on your preferred frequent flyer program (e.g. Asia Miles, Executive Club) to complete the booking.

You may also look for oneworld Business Class award availability with the calendar view on alaskaair.com.

Is this a good deal?

This is a good deal if you plan to fly on one of the above sweet spots.

While the taxes/fees are high for redemptions on Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Japan Airlines, the miles savings are pretty great too, when compared to Singapore Airlines Krisflyer.

It is also worth noting that Asia Miles expiry are very easily extendable with at least one account activity every 18 months. The easiest way to do this is by clicking through Asia Miles’ shopping portal the next time you shop online.

Bottom line

Asia Miles is offering up to 15% bonus miles for credit card miles/points conversions in the coming weeks.

If you have been eyeing one of those sweet spot routes for travel in the coming months, this is a good time to convert to Asia Miles.
