What benefits to expect when you stay at Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha as a World of Hyatt Globalist member?
The hotel opened in 2010 and was last renovated in 2016. It has a total of 412 rooms.
At the time of writing, this property requires 3,500 to 6,000 points per night for award stays in a standard room, and 5,500 to 8,500 points per night with Club Access, a great World of Hyatt sweet spot!
I spent a day in this hotel while transiting in Doha, during my Round The World in Business & First Class using miles trip.

Arrival
I arrived really early, at 7 in the morning, and was hoping that I could at least hang out in the club lounge while waiting for the room to be ready.
To my surprise, the hotel had upgraded me to the Regency Suite and gave me the key card to the suite, without me even requesting for an early check-in! What a pleasant surprise.
But that’s not all.
I went on to ask if there’s an express check-out box, as I’ll be checking out shortly after midnight, to catch a flight to Manchester. The staff then suggested using my Globalist breakfast entitlement that very morning, as I would miss it on the following day; amazing service and membership recognition!
Regency Suite
Room 447 is 75sqm/807sqft in size.
I’m not a big fan of the furnishing and colour scheme of the suite. With that ancient wallpaper, carpeting and furnitures that were not built-in, it’s hard to believe that the hotel was built in 2010 and renovated in 2016.
However, looks aside, it was very well-maintained. And I loved the large balcony, even on a lower floor.
Breakfast
Globalist members get complimentary breakfast for 2 at Choices restaurant.
Food quality and variety was great, for a hotel requiring as little as 3,500 points per night on award stays!
Regency Club Lounge
Globalist members and guests staying in rooms/suites with club access have complimentary access to the Regency Club Lounge.
The lounge looked a little small, but there were only 2 other occupied tables while I was there during the evening cocktail hours.
Evening cocktail
Food served during evening cocktail hours were of very good quality, but lacking in variety of alcoholic beverages.
Internet speed
The WiFi speed was only good enough for light web surfing.

Bottom line
5,000 Hyatt points to stay in Hyatt Regency Oryx Doha was a real bargain. Along with the outstanding Globalist member recognition and food quality during breakfast and evening cocktail, I couldn’t have picked a better hotel to sleep in after travelling for over 24 hours.
