How to access Cathay Pacific The Pier Business Lounge?

I visited this lounge prior to my Cathay Pacific Economy Class flight from Hong Kong to Singapore, during my Jeju-Seoul 2023 trip.

Passengers departing in Business or First Class on oneworld airlines can access this lounge (no guest).

Oneworld Sapphire and Emerald members can also gain complimentary access (+1 guest on the same flight), regardless of class of travel.

Getting there

Cathay Pacific The Pier Lounge is located in Terminal 1, near Gate 65.

General areas

The Pier is 1 of 2 fantastic Cathay Pacific Business Class lounges in Hong Kong International Airport. The other one, The Wing, located at the other end of the terminal.

Unlike The Wing, The Pier lacks a high ceiling for a more “airy” feel. However, it is large, more private and very well-equipped with great F&B options and amenities.

Certain parts of the lounge also have a view of the apron.

Relaxation Room

The Relaxation Room, which includes a number of comfortable flat beds, is the perfect area to hang out in for passengers arriving from long haul flights and/or have long transit times.

It’s pretty rare to find flat beds in Business Class lounges!

Shower

Guest can book a shower room in-person.

Food & Drinks

Guests can help themselves to hot dishes and snacks from the buffet, or order noodles, pizza and dim sum from the Food Hall and Noodle Bar.

Bottom line

Cathay Pacific The Pier Business Lounge is a sanctuary for eligible passengers flying through Hong Kong International Airport, and I rank it high up among the best Business Class lounges in the world (that I’ve been to).

Being here during a period of low occupancy definitely helped. Based on what I’ve gathered from other reviews of the lounge, the peak hours seem to be from 7am till 10am.
