What benefits to expect when you stay at Grand Hyatt Jeju as a World of Hyatt Globalist member?

The hotel opened in 2020 with a total of, believe it or not, 1,600 rooms!

I redeemed a Hyatt Category 4 free night (earned through a milestone) for this stay. Unfortunately, this previous sweet spot recently went up a category and is now a Category 5 property.

This property now requires 17,000 to 23,000 points per night for award stays in a standard room.

Arrival

Upon arrival by car, we were directed to the car park, where I parked for free as a Globalist member staying on an award night.

As a Globalist member recognition, we were upgraded to the Corner Suite a couple of days prior to the stay!

Corner Suite

Room 3418 is 130sqm/1,400sqft in size; in other words, HUGE!

The suite has a dining area, a living area, a bedroom and 2 bathrooms. Furnishing is great, with plenty of negative space to add to the luxurious feel.

The panoramic, unblocked view from the suite was an icing on the cake. I missed plane-spotting from the suite too!

Evening cocktail

The evening cocktail spread was quite brilliant. Food and drinks were of high quality, with a good mix of Korean and western cuisine available for selection.

Breakfast

For guests with club access, breakfast is held in the Grand Club lounge too.

Like what’s on offer during evening cocktail, F&B quality was great. Guests can pick from a selection of Korean and western dishes and order a freshly-made eggs.

Internet speed

The WiFi speed was great throughout my stay.

Other facilities

It’s difficult to run out of things to do in the hotel when there are great facilities like an arcade, casino, indoor swimming pool, Jjimjil spa and even a mall that is directly connected property.

Kids Arcade

Don’t let the name fool you, the Kids Arcade is not just for kids! My partner and I had so much fun here.

Playing tokens can be bought through the machine in the arcade, and to my surprise, games are pretty cheap! Most of them cost KRW 500 – 1000 (US$0.35 – US$0.75) for each play.

Gym

The gym is large and well-equipped. But I feel that is a missed opportunity to not have one on a higher floor with a view of the outside world.

Jjimjil Spa

The hotel has a Korean Jjimjil Spa and guests with club access can also enjoy it for free!

As shown in the photos below, there are plenty of rooms for you to relax in, with each room offering different health benefits.

These “rooms” are unisex, while the shower and dressing rooms are separated into Male and Female.

Swimming pool

The indoor swimming pool area has regulated room temperature, tall ceiling and natural light. A very well thought of space.

Bottom line

With fantastic facilities, unblocked views, membership recognition and high standards of the Grand Club lounge, staying in Grand Hyatt Jeju as a World of Hyatt Globalist member is a near-perfect experience.

Staying during the low travel season between December and March definitely helped!
