What benefits to expect when you stay at Fairfield Kuala Lumpur Jalan Pahang as a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium or Platinum Elite member?

Fairfield Kuala Lumpur Jalan Pahang opened in Dec 2021 with a total of 186 rooms. This property requires 5,000 to 10,000 points per night for award stays.

I found this low cash rate through a Marriott Bonvoy Escapes promotion.

Location

The hotel is located in Chow Kit, Kuala Lumpur. This old part of the city appear “rundown” in some parts and the area may not be nice to walk around in.

However, it is really easy to get a GrabCar to other parts of the city from the lobby and we never felt like security was an issue in the area outside the hotel.

This area often has motorbike noises late into the night but it wasn’t nearly as bad as what I experienced at Hilton Garden Inn Kuala Lumpur Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman South.

Arrival

Upon arrival, we had our temperatures taken and were assisted with our luggages before being directed to the reception.

I had booked the base room and was not upgraded during check-in as the hotel only had 3 room types (only 4 floors open) and all Deluxe rooms were occupied.

However, the staff was very kind to offer a mid-stay upgrade!

Standard Room

Room 1121 is 19sqm / 204sqft in size.

It was a very small room but I felt that most of the available space was well-utilised. The long sofa by the window was a great touch. However, although there was a storage area near the door, it was a real waste of space as we could not find a way to fit a large luggage in there, because of the small opening.

Furnishing in the room was modern, what you’d expect from a new property. The design of the bathroom doors were cumbersome and it created an illusion that the room is bigger than it actually is.

Deluxe Room

Room 1025 is 38sqm / 409sqft in size.

This oddly-shaped room is twice the size of the Standard room. The television can be pulled out and rotated but it is pretty far off-centre from the bed and some guests may find this annoying.

The view is very similar to the Standard room that I stayed in and the bathroom is also a lot more spacious!

Breakfast

Breakfast is complimentary for Platinum members and above and was served as a buffet at Lesung restaurant, from 7am to 10am.

Food quality and variety was great for a hotel at this price point.

Bottom line

It was a very comfortable stay in a new property. And this yet another high-value Marriott Bonvoy hotel in Kuala Lumpur that you should visit!

Because of its low price-point, this hotel is also great for mattress-runs if you need a few more nights for Platinum or Titanium status.
