Since the closure of Krisflyer Gold Lounge on 31 July 2019, Star Alliance Gold members are now directed to Marhaba Lounge in Changi Airport Terminal 3. Although there is second entrance, guests are free to move about when they are inside. Things will be this way until mid-2021. With a renovation that long, the new Krisflyer Gold Lounge better be sensational!

It was extremely crowded when I arrived. The ladies at the counter seemed very apologetic and allowed me to head in to have a look. All dining tables were occupied. There were only two lounge chairs that were next to each other. Located next to the playground, the “Marhaba” section of the lounge is very noisy as you can clearly hear kids screaming every now and then. What a stressful place to be in! I swear that I could have been more relaxed at Pret A Manger downstairs.

The evening crowd started to clear at around 0030 hours.

Conclusion

The last time I visited this lounge was before the Krisflyer Gold migration and I loved the food. I’m not going to lie, hot food selection is still great this time round.

But what is an airport lounge for if you get more peace and privacy in public areas around the airport? I feel even more sorry for Star Alliance Gold members.

At least Priority Pass members have plenty of other lounges to choose from. As a Priority Pass member, I could treat this lounge as the TGM of Terminal 3 (to eat-and-go) but the thought of those noise and waiting around for unoccupied tables, I just can’t. Never returning until Krisflyer Gold Lounge move back out next year.
