How to book a Preferred Partner Program rate
PPP rates are usually the hotel’s “Standard” or “Flexible” non-member rates for that particular day.
Here are the steps to take to book a PPP rate:
- Pick a hotel and stay date(s)
- Search for your preferred hotel and stay dates
- Reach out to a travel agent like Intriq Journeys via email or WhatsApp to complete the booking
- Inform the travel agent your hotel loyalty number as well as any special request that you may have.
Remember: There are no booking fees and no prepayment required for these PPP rates. You may also cancel these bookings for free up to one day before the stay.
What if you have an Elite status?
While PPP rates benefit members without an Elite status the most, Elite members can also receive additional benefits that do not come with their status.
By booking a PPP rate, you will still receive usual member benefits like points, elite nights, suite upgrades and any ongoing promotions.
Additional note: If an ill-trained hotel receptionist says that you cannot receive usual member benefits, request to speak to a manager and inform your travel agent about it.

Personally, I am a big fan of Marriott Gift Cards as they are good-as-cash and do not expire. You can use it to pay for non-prepaid Marriott Bonvoy stays for the entire invoice amount, including taxes/fees/incidentals.
