What benefits to expect when you stay at Le Méridien Petaling Jaya as a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium or Platinum Elite member?

The hotel originally opened in 2018 as New World Petaling Jaya and was rebranded to Le Méridien Petaling Jaya in June 2022. It has a total of 300 rooms.

This property usually requires 10,000 to 15,000 points per night for award stays.

Location

The hotel is located in Petaling Jaya, West of Kuala Lumpur. There is a large mall right next to it.

  • 1 min walk to Paradigm Mall
  • 30 mins drive to Petronas Twin Towers
  • 45 mins drive to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL)

Arrival

The hotel lobby is located on the second floor and there are lifts to it, from the drop-off area.

I booked the base room and was pre-upgraded to the Le Meridien Suite 5 days prior to arrival, as a Titanium member recognition.

I chose 1,000 points as my welcome gift.

Le Meridien Suite

Room 2218 is 73sqm / 785sqft in size.

This is the highest room category available in the hotel.

As expected from a fairly-new property, furnishing was good and in great condition. However, I found the televisions a little small.

Food at the Club Lounge

Guests can enjoy complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and light snacks all day, and hot food and alcoholic beverages during the evening cocktail hours of 6 to 8pm daily.

For a property that charges as little as 10k points for award nights, hot food served in the evening was excellent!

Breakfast

Breakfast is complimentary for Platinum members and above. It was held as a buffet at Pasar Baru restaurant.

There are separate food stations with live cooking for Chicken Rice, Noodles and Malay and Indian Cuisines.

Food quality was good for a hotel at this price point (award rate).

Bottom line

I enjoyed the generous room upgrade, beautiful club lounge and breathtaking view from the rooftop swimming pool.

Le Méridien Petaling Jaya is a fantastic addition to Marriott Bonvoy‘s already-incredible footprint in the Kuala Lumpur/Klang Valley area. By 2023, the hotel loyalty program will have 23 properties in the area with majority of them costing less than US$100 per night!
