How I booked this ticket

This one-way First Class ticket was booked with 125,000 Singapore Airlines Krisflyer miles + EUR 108.49 in taxes/fees and included the long haul segment in Suites Class from Frankfurt to Singapore.

If you are flying only between Singapore and Jakarta in First Class, it will cost 30,500 Krisflyer miles + very low taxes/fees (Saver).

How to fly Singapore Airlines First Class

Singapore Airlines First Class (non-Suites) seats can only be found in the airline’s Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts. In Southeast Asia, Jakarta is the only destination featuring aircrafts with a First Class cabin.

Singapore Airlines First Class can be booked with Krisflyer miles (on singaporeair.com) and sometimes with Alaska miles.

Singapore Airlines First Class

Singapore Airlines first introduced these 35-inch wide First Class seat in 2013.

Depending on which Boeing 777-300ER aircraft you are flying, there are either 4 or 8 seats in the cabin, installed in a 1-2-1 configuration.

It can be transformed into a fully-flat bed, of course.

Dining

Flying in a premium cabin with Singapore Airlines gives you access to Book the Cook (BTC) where you can choose your in-flight main course beforehand, through the “Manage Booking” page on singaporeair.com.

As you would expect, flying out of Singapore’s Changi Airport gives you the best BTC menu (shown below).

Passengers may also choose their preferred meal from the in-flight menu (shown below).

Service

Consistent with my previous experiences in Singapore Airlines Business and First Class, service was great throughout the short flight.

Airport lounge access

Flying Singapore Airlines First/Suites Class from Singapore gets you access to The Private Room and SilverKris First Class Lounge in Singapore’s Changi Airport Terminal 3.

My ratings

This is how I am rating my First Class experience (vs other airlines):

Bottom line

Singapore Airline’s First Class is nowhere near as impressive as its Suites however, these extra-wide seats are still great to fly in. I also found it more comfortable in bed mode, than the separate bed in the Suites.

  1. hello fai,

Am wondering if we are able to access any lounge upon arrival at CGK airport with first class cabin and if it is even worth it to pay a visit.

  2. Does first class have a wider selection of BTC options on short haul?

As the btc options for short haul biz is quite small.
