What benefits to expect when you stay at Aloft Bali Seminyak as a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium or Platinum Elite member?

Additional note

I stayed in this property in March 2021 and wrote a review here. While this review is for different room categories, it contains some duplicate content from that other review.

A few months ago, I ranked this hotel in 2nd place after living in hotels for 6 months.

Aloft Bali Seminyak opened in 2019 with just 80 rooms.

It is a Category 3 Marriott Bonvoy property requiring 15,000 to 20,000 points per night for award stays. Based on our points valuation, we do not recommend redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points in this property if the cash rate is lower than IDR 1.4m per night.

We stayed a total of 51 nights by making 3 weekly bookings and 1 monthly booking. Here are the average nightly rates for the weekly and monthly long stays:

  • Weekly: IDR 320k nett
  • Monthly: IDR 267k nett

Here are some photos posted on our Instagram page:

Location

The hotel is located in the Seminyak area and is very close to a beautiful beach that offers amazing sunsets on good days!

  • 3 mins walk to Batu Belig beach
  • 10 mins drive to Seminyak Square
  • 30 mins drive to Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS)
  • 1 hr 5 mins drive to Ubud Town

Arrival

Upon arrival, we had our temperatures taken and were assisted with our luggages before being directed to the reception.

The first booking was attached to a BRG claim for the Pool Access Room (previously reviewed) and the hotel was very kind to upgrade us to the Loft Room for 6 nights!

Loft Room

Room 235 is 67sqm / 721sqft in size.

There are only 2 of these rooms in the hotel, one on level 2 and another one on level 3, both facing opposite sides.

Other than the large balcony with a beautiful tub, the design language and space of the bedroom is very much similar to other rooms in the hotel.

As this room category does not include a work desk, I requested for an additional table and chair.

During my previous stay, I did not know that the hotel could provide Bliss face wash upon request! This is the same product that I got during my stay at W Bali – Seminyak.

King rooms

Room 228 is 28sqm / 301sqft in size.

As mentioned in my previous review of this hotel, the standard upgrade for Platinum members and above is the Pool Access room.

As we planned to stay for longer duration, we requested for the quietest room at the far end of the building. The hotel felt bad putting me in a room in the lowest category but it wasn’t a huge difference to the slightly larger rooms, as seen in the pictures below.

The balcony rooms should be avoided. These rooms are facing a busy road and are extremely noisy!

Breakfast

Breakfast is complimentary for Platinum members and above and was served as à la carte buffet at Kahuna restaurant. I asked if it was possible to have breakfast sent to my room instead and they said yes!

Food quality was fantastic for a hotel at this price. It was of similar quality to what I had at Alila Seminyak, where rooms cost 10 times more!

Other facilities

The main swimming pool is located at the rooftop, in front of Kahuna restaurant. There is also a higher viewpoint where guests can get a better view of the sea.

The gym is also located beside Kahuna restaurant and is very small. All good if you’re the only one there but it can get uncomfortable if there are 3 or more users.

Returned to this hotel for a much longer stay and I left just as happy as before. Outstanding value for what I paid.

  1. Thanks for the review. I’m interesting to know which site do you use as comparison for the BRG? I used trivago (Agoda, booking, expedia) several times and I’m out of luck; could’t find any. Actually I found one for Intercontinental Bali BRG but IHG BRG 5x points were that not generous as previous one.
