Arrival

Upon arrival, we had our temperatures taken and were assisted with our luggages before being directed to the reception.

I had booked the base room and was pre-upgraded to the Punyan Suite one day before arrival. It was a lovely surprise as my stay was 8 nights long and the hotel only has 5 of those suites!

I was told that the hotel offers complimentary shuttle services to Ubud Centre but I did not use it during my stay. That’s because I had visited Ubud Centre during my stay at Sthala Ubud and found that around 90% of shops were closed because of the pandemic.

Punyan Suite

Room 311 is 64sqm / 689sqft in size.

The suite felt very modern and spacious as there wasn’t any wall separating the bedroom and living area. I’ve always preferred open suites like these.

The bathroom wasn’t huge but it was well-designed to provide great privacy and peaceful view of the forest.

Breakfast

Breakfast is complimentary for Platinum members and above and was served as à la carte buffet at Andong Teras Restaurant from 7am to 10.30am.

I had the option of having breakfast sent to my room and went for it throughout my stay. Food quality was very good and delivery was always on time.

Bottom line

It’s hard to believe that I could get better value than my stay at Courtyard Seminyak. Although I preferred the location and service at that hotel, I cannot ignore the fact that this hotel costed 20% cheaper, has an underpriced F&B menu, better bathroom and offers a better view from the room.

This was yet another high-value stay in Bali. It does not get any better than this, surely?
