There’s an Online Travel Agency (OTA) error fare going around, presenting travellers with the opportunity to book Business Class air fares from Singapore to Europe at a bargain.
Things to note before booking an Error Fare
With all error fares, it is advisable to defer making firm travel plans for at least the next couple of weeks, as the airline/OTA may cancel your booking and issue a refund.
Currency fluctuations and credit card foreign currency fees may also result in some monetary loss, when the refund is processed.
There may also be some delays in processing the refund, depending on the OTA/airline.
Historically, travellers who book error fares for flights departing in the coming days have a greater success of flying the itinerary (before the airline/OTA has time to react).
One-Way Business Class Singapore to London/Amsterdam for S$1,125
This fare involves a codeshare TAP Portugal flight that is operated by Singapore Airlines, for the long leg between Singapore and some European cities like Barcelona, Milan or Rome.
The 2-stop/3-flight itinerary will also include a layover in Lisbon, and 2 connecting flights on TAP Portugal.
One-Way Business Class Singapore to London/Amsterdam for S$2,300
It is also possible to book roundtrip flights for about twice the price.
How to book?
UPDATE: It is also possible to book directly on TAP Portugal.
These fares can only be found (and booked) on certain OTAs like:
While the fares can be found pretty easily on many dates at the time of this article, travellers can search for them a little easier with the calendar views on Google Flights or SkyScanner.
Bottom line
We’ve definitely seen better Business Class fares between Southeast Asia and Europe, that are not even error fares; I won’t call this a “must-book” fare.
However, with Singapore Airlines charging a whopping S$7,000 to S$10,000 for these flights, this error fare makes it a little more palatable for commoners like me, who are looking to travel to Europe in the coming months. 🙃

All the best!
