Marriott Bonvoy has a new global promotion starting in a couple of weeks and it is open for registration.
Key points to note
- Get 1,000 bonus points (worth US$6) per night
- Get 1 additional Elite Night Credit per night, to achieve Elite statuses easier
- Only paid nights are eligible, award nights do not count
- Stays must be completed between 7 Feb and 23 Apr 2023
- Registration is required by 9 Apr 2023
- Bookings made before the promotional period will also qualify, as long as the stays are within that period
- Bonus points and additional Elite Night Credits will be credited within 7 business days after checking out
Is this a good promotion?
It’s great to see this promotion again, after similar ones in 2021 and 2022.
This is a great promotion as Marriott Bonvoy members can achieve the Platinum status after staying just 25 nights within the 75-night promotional period.
This can be achieved at a fairly low cost if you can have plans in Malaysia or Indonesia in the coming months!
Marriott’s membership status earned in 2023 can be enjoyed till Dec 2024. The Platinum status gets you the following key benefits:
- Complimentary breakfast
- Club lounge access (incl. complimentary food and drinks, alcoholic too)
- Room upgrades up to a suite
- Late check-out up to 4pm
- Choose a milestone bonus upon reaching 50 Elite Nights

On top of that, members also get to earn 1,000 bonus points (worth US$6) per night, on paid stays. Fixed-points promotions like this are more valuable for stays in cheaper properties.
Bottom line
Marriott Bonvoy members are getting 1,000 bonus points and 1 additional Elite Night Credit for paid stays in the coming months.
In my opinion, Marriott Bonvoy’s Platinum/Titanium status is the best hotel membership status for travellers based in Singapore and the surrounding region.
This is because, Marriott-affiliated hotels in this region mostly hold high standards in hardware, F&B and service. On top of that, they are also more willing to go above and beyond in offering benefits that come with the status, unlike properties in North America.
Additional note: While I receive similar status recognition with World of Hyatt, its small collection of hotels (only 1,000+ vs Marriott’s 7,000+) and US$200k spending requirement for a lifetime status discourages me from prioritizing it as my top hotel status.
Are the extra elite nights counted towards lifetime status? ie if I stay 5 nights during the promo period, will 10 nights count for LIFETIME ELITE requirements?
They should count towards lifetime status qualification.
