It’s been a couple of years since I last wrote about Singapore Airlines’ Spontaneous Escapes deals!
What is Spontaneous Escapes?
Around the middle of every month, Singapore Airlines shares a list of last-minute destinations for you to redeem Krisflyer miles at a discount.
With these monthly deals, members can usually redeem 30% less miles for Economy, Premium Economy or Business Class flights to selected cities. But occasionally, we saw discounts up to 51%!
Over the next couple of weeks (till 31 March 2022), redemptions for these destinations will cost you 30% less miles.

Good deals this month
Here are good deals for this month’s Spontaneous Escapes, excluding cities/countries that are still closed.
Destination (to/from Singapore) | Economy | Premium Economy | Business |
---|---|---|---|
Ho Chi Minh, Siem Reap | 8,750 | – | 15,050 |
Mumbai, New Delhi, Kathmandu | 12,950 | 22,400 | 27,300 |

Brisbane, Cairns | 19,600 | – | 43,400 |
New York | 28,600 | 51,100 | 69,300 |
What about European cities?
This month’s Spontaneous Escapes includes some European cities like Barcelona, Milan and Rome.
At 64,400 miles each way in Business Class, I would call this a barely good deal. That is, if you can find award availability on your preferred date, without waitlisting.
Besides, I feel that it is more exciting to travel in Finnair’s newest Business Class seat or Qatar Airways Qsuite than Singapore Airlines’ Business Class seat that was launched some 9 years ago.
Frequent Flyer | Airline | Miles required |
---|---|---|
Privilege Club | Qatar Airways | 75,000 +S$66 |
Krisflyer | Singapore Airlines | 92,000 64,400 +S$52 |
Asia Miles | Cathay Pacific | 65,000 +S$270 |
Qatar Airways | 70,000 +S$523 | |
Finnair | 70,000 +S$75 | |
Miles&Smiles | Turkish Airlines | 45,000 +S$324 |
Bottom line
If you made it through the period of “revenge travel” without redeeming your Krisflyer miles at crazy “Advantage” rates, congratulations, this is your time to shine.
