If you have met all the requirements described aboved, you will receive an email with collection instructions 60 – 120 days after card approval. This period allows the bank to revert to us with the official application statuses before we start sending out the gift.
I am still waiting for my gift from a recent application. How can I check on the status?
You can make ANY retail purchases like groceries, petrol or online shopping. Avoid excluded transactions like bill payments (as described in the terms and conditions).
Do I need to get approval by the end of the promotion date?
No, you just have to apply by the end of the promotion date and get approval as described in the terms and conditions.
Can foreigners apply?
Yes.
I am already holding an American Express credit card which I don’t really use. What can I do?
Call the bank to cancel that card. You will be considered as a new customer 12 months later and will be able to take advantage of future promotions.
I am a supplementary cardholder of American Express. Will I qualify for this promotion?
According to the terms and conditions, American Express defines a “new American Express customer” as someone who does not have an existing American Express Credit Card account. Hence, you will qualify.
Do I have to pay anything to apply?
No. The card’s annual fee is automatically waived for the first year and you are free to cancel the card if you don’t like it after a few months. Don’t feel bad about keeping the free gift! 😉
I am holding a credit card from American Express of another country. Will I qualify for this promotion?
Yes, you will qualify if you have not held a credit card from American Express Singapore as a principal card holder in the past 12 months.
I did not see the Application Reference Number at the end of the application. What can I do?
Wait 1 hour to receive an acknowledgement email from American Express. This email will have the reference number. If you do not receive the email, call American Express after 1 or 2 days to request for it. REMEMBER to fill up the redemption form once you have the reference number.
