Arrival

Upon arrival, we had our temperatures taken and were assisted with our luggages before being directed to the reception.

I had booked the base room (Aloft King) and was pre-upgraded to Aloft Pool Access King 2 days before arrival.

The room (Pool Access King)

Room 118 is 28sqm / 301sqft in size.

Because of the luggage storage area and smart design, the room felt larger than what it is on paper. With a proper work desk, this room had everything that I wished Fairfield Kuta had.

The pool that is accessible from this room is not the main pool, which is located on the rooftop. It was very quiet and private as only guests from 8 pool access rooms can use it.

There are self-service water-refill stations at the corridor which is very convenient!

Best rooms

In general, I always request for a room on the highest floor possible and it must not be a connecting room (for less noise).

However, because of the low occupancy, I accepted the pool access room upgrade as there were only 1 or 2 other rooms occupied on that floor.

Breakfast

Breakfast is complimentary for Platinum members and above and was served as à la carte buffet at Kahuna restaurant. I asked if it was possible to have breakfast sent to my room instead and they said yes!

Food quality was fantastic for a hotel at this price. It was of similar quality to what I had at Alila Seminyak, where rooms cost 10 times more!

Other facilities

The main swimming pool is located at the rooftop, in front of Kahuna restaurant. There is also a higher viewpoint where guests can get a better view of the sea.

The gym is also located beside Kahuna restaurant and is very small. All good if you’re the only one there but it can get uncomfortable if there are 3 or more users.

  1. Hi there, do u know if the highest category room (urban room) was open at that time. Just wondering the chances of being upgraded to that category as a titanium member.

    • Hey, yes it was open. I stayed in one of only two Urban/Loft rooms and wrote a review here: https://suitesmile.com/blog/2021/10/19/review-aloft-bali-seminyak-king-loft-rooms/

It was a rare upgrade, even when occupancy was extremely low.
