Hilton Honors: Benefits extended again!

Hilton Honors announced some very good (temporary) changes to its loyalty program today.

Here are the key points to note:

  1. Points will only expire on 31 December 2021 at the earliest, even without any activity in the past 12 months.

  2. Everyone will keep their current status till 31 March 2022.

  3. In 2021, get your Hilton status for only half of what is usually required! 20 nights (or 10 stays) for Gold and 30 nights (or 15 stays) for Diamond. Remember, your 2020 nights will rollover to next year! Also remember that you will get 2 Elite nights till the end of the year.

  4. In 2021, start getting milestone bonuses from 20 nights instead of 40.

  5. Diamond members will be able to gift Gold status after 30 nights (instead of 60) and Diamond status after 60 nights (instead of 100).

Bottom line

Hilton Honors remains as the leading hotel loyalty program when it comes to value. I am most excited about earning 10,000 points milestone bonuses from 20 nights next year! I do wish that there is another membership tier above Diamond, considering how easy it is to achieve Diamond status these days. Having said that, I am not getting any less suite upgrades as compared to my Titanium (75 nights) experience with Marriott Bonvoy!
