HSBC has improved their sign-up bonus for 3 of their popular credit cards. From now till 30 June 2020, new customers of HSBC will receive a Samsonite Prestige 69cm (27 inches) travel luggage (with built-in scale) worth $670 when they spend a minimum of $800 within the first month of card approval. You may also choose to receive $150 cashback instead of the luggage. On top of this, customers who apply using the MyInfo option through the link below will receive an additional $20 worth of Grab codes. Existing customers will receive $30 cashback upon card approval.
Pro tip: Applying using a computer will require you to print, sign and scan a form. Using a mobile phone only requires a digital signature.

Okay, good sign-up bonus. But are these good cards to keep?
HSBC Revolution has a place in our updated page of the best credit cards for each spending category. Its most important “contribution” to the Miles Game is the 2 miles per dollar earn rate for insurance premiums paid online. The other two cards listed above are not great.
Conclusion
This is an improvement over the previous promotion which offered Samsonite T5 68cm luggage which ended up selling in Carousell from as little as $180 each. I am guessing that this is caused by oversupply as the previous promotion lasted for quite a number of months. If you foresee spending over $800 in the coming month, this is a great promotion. I am not sure why anyone would need a luggage right now but hey, this would be one less thing to worry about when the travel bans get lifted!
