Singapore Airlines Spontaneous Escapes for December 2019

It’s that time of month again! Around the middle of every month, Singapore Airlines comes out with a list of last minute destinations that you can trade your precious miles for. Over the next couple of weeks (till 30 November 2019), redemptions for these destinations will cost you 30% less miles. This discount is only applicable for flights departing and arriving from 1 to 30 December 2019. Click here to view this month’s Spontaneous Escapes.

Here are my favourites for this month:

Singapore to Nagoya/Fukuoka, Japan in Economy: 17,500 miles
Singapore Male, Maldives in Economy: 12,950 miles
Singapore to Perth, Australia in Economy: 14,000 miles
Frankfurt, Germany to New York, USA in Economy: 15,750 miles

I’m not sure if you can see a pattern emerging. Singapore Airlines Business Class has become so expensive for miles redemption that even 64,000 miles each way to Dusseldorf (offered this month) does not count as a good deal to me. Firstly, what am I going to do in Dusseldorf? I would probably need to spend on a connecting flight to another part of Europe. Besides, Business Class on Singapore Airlines flights SQ337 and SQ338 features the older seat from 2013. I would rather take a cheap $100 Economy flight to Hong Kong and fly on Cathay Pacific’s Business Class to my preferred European destination for only 42,500 miles.

I wrote an article on my favourite redemptions for each region on Krisflyer miles, along with other Frequent Flyer Programs.
