Hilton Kuala Lumpur opened in 2004 and is strategically located right beside KL Sentral Station. This is really convenient if you need quick access to the airport. There is also a large mall (Nu Sentral) directly connected to the hotel and train station.

Arrival

Check-in for Gold and Diamond members is done at the seating area in the lobby. I was offered a one-level upgrade to a corner room on the 34th floor (one below the top floor). Not bad for a 7-nights stay!

Breakfast

The breakfast spread at Vasco’s restaurant is massive! Get’s pretty crowded though. The tables are very close to one another and you will literally be bumping elbows with someone else’s partner and listening to each other’s conversation.

Executive lounge

The Executive Lounge on level 33 has a really nice panoramic view. The food offerings for afternoon tea and evening aperitifs are of good quality too. As my room is just one floor above, I could just walk down the grand staircase to get to the Executive Lounge. It gets full in the evening, so you will have to be there early to sit by the window to enjoy the sunset. Do note the strict dress code though. Really appreciated attentive and courteous staff, Angeline and Jun Gene.

Other facilities

The swimming pool is long and narrow. I find it a little on the small side. It is connected to that of Le Méridien’s next door.

The gym is large and they have free classes every day for hotel guests. My partner and I went to the yoga and bollywood dance classes and enjoyed ourselves!

    • I received complimentary breakfast as a Diamond member. Not sure about what’s included in the Exec room as a non-Diamond member.
