This great fare is part of Saudia’s Green Flyday offer, where travellers can book air fares with up to 30% off.

The offer is valid for tickets issued from 24 to 30 Nov 2023, for flights between 11 Jan and 10 Mar 2024.

Luggage allowances

These fares fall under the Guest Basic category (a.k.a. Economy Basic), which includes 2 pieces of checked baggage, up to 23kg each.

Travellers can usually browse air fares easily through Google Flights. However, I found that these Saudia offers are not shown accurately there.

The good news is that you can search with flexible dates on Saudia’s official website.

Visa requirements

As always, check your visa requirements before making a booking.

Pay special attention to your transit duration in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia.

If the flights are booked directly through Saudia, a Saudi Arabia transit visa is not required for transits up to 12 hours.

For transits between 12 and 96 hours, travellers can apply for a free stopover visa, and also, a free one-night hotel stay*.

*According to a CNN article, unmarried foreign couples can now stay in the same room in Saudi Arabia.

The biggest drawback is that DBS points earned on this card have an expiry term of just 1 year. With a minimum transfer block of 5,000 points (10,000 miles), cardholders often find themselves with expiring “orphan” points of under 5,000, that can only be redeemed for low-value items like mall/dining vouchers.
