Redemption opportunities to consider
Unfortunately, Turkish Airlines seems to have removed Business Class award availability entirely for flights to/from Singapore. However, there is good availability for Economy Class.
If you are looking to fly in Business Class to/from the Far East region, award availability is fairly good with Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.
Take note of the high taxes/fees on Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles award bookings, mainly caused by fuel surcharges. For a Business Class flight from Kuala Lumpur to Europe, expect to pay about US$310 on top of the mileage requirement.
To/From Far East Asia | Economy (+ taxes/fees) | Business (+ taxes/fees) |
---|---|---|
Turkey | 21k miles + ~US$85 | 31.5k miles + ~US$240 |
Europe | 21k miles + ~US$110 | 31.5k miles + ~US$310 |
Middle East | 22.4k miles + ~US$115 | 32.9k miles + ~US$320 |
North America | 31.5k miles + ~US$190 | 47.25k miles + ~US$475 |
South America | 36.75k miles + ~US$260 | 52.5k miles + ~US$510 |
Turkish Airlines Business Class seats
As much as possible, you’ll want to book flights on Boeing 787 or Airbus A350 aircrafts (with new seats), instead of on Boeing 777 aircrafts (with old seats).
The good news is you can find the newer 787s flying to/from Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta on some days.
Is this a good deal?
Absolutely.
Even with the high fuel surcharges, this is a fantastic opportunity to fly Business Class to Europe for as little as 31.5k miles.
As a comparison, Singapore Airlines Krisflyer requires 72k more miles and US$261 less taxes/fees. Even with my conservative valuation of Krisflyer miles, that’s US$864 worth of miles saved!
How to book
To book these discounted award tickets, head over to turkishairlines.com or the mobile app and search for a “promotion” rate.
Then, book the award ticket and pay the taxes/fees as per normal.
Best cards for Airline spending
I recommend using the Amaze card, while linking to Citi PremierMiles or Citi Prestige cards. This gives me 1.2 or 1.3 miles per dollar, while avoiding foreign currency charges.

How to earn Turkish Airlines miles?
If you are based in Singapore, only Citibank is a transfer partner of Miles&Smiles.
Reminder: When deciding between cards with similar earn rates, always choose Citi cards for better transfer flexibility in future and longer points validity.

Turkish Airlines is offering 30% off award tickets booked by 25 Dec 2022.
This is a great opportunity to fly to Europe with very little miles.
