Mixed Bag: New benefits with Accor and Qatar Airways enhanced partnership

Qatar Airways and Accor Live Limitless (ALL) unveiled the strengthening of their partnership to offer greater benefits for members of both loyalty programs.

To me the Fast Track offer is the most interesting announcement, and I am surprised by how unfair imbalanced the “reciprocal” fast track benefits are.

Fast Track from ALL to Qatar Airways Privilege Club

If you have an ALL elite status, you can get a fast track to a Qatar Airways/oneworld status after just 1 eligible Qatar Airways flight.

Fast tracked members get to keep the status for a period of 12 months.

How to apply for ALL/Qatar Fast Track

To apply for a fast track, here’s what you have to do:

  1. Link your ALL and Qatar accounts here
  2. Stay 1 night (Qatar to ALL) or take 1 eligible flight (Qatar to ALL) to have your new status

Additional note: The Fast Track offer is only available to a limited number of members as described in the terms and conditions.

Other benefits of this partnership

Points earning

  • Earn 10 Avios with every EUR 10 spent at selected ALL hotels
  • Earn 1 ALL point with every USD 2 spent on Qatar Airways flights

Points conversion (poor value)

  • Convert Qatar Avios to ALL points with a ratio of 4,500 Qatar Avios to 1,000 ALL points
  • Convert ALL points to Qatar Avios with a ratio of 2,000 ALL points to 1,000 Qatar Avios

Bottom line

To recap, Accor Platinum members can get a fast track to Qatar Gold, but Qatar Gold members can only get a fast track to Accor Silver. Hilarious.

Accor Live Limitless is a weak hotel loyalty program that only recognizes key benefits in Asia Pacific hotels and I am very surprised that top-tier Qatar Airways members (Platinum) can’t even get an Accor status that includes complimentary breakfast on some hotel stays (ALL Platinum).

This is a fantastic opportunity for Accor’s Elite members and a horrible one for Qatar Airways’.

I am currently an Accor Platinum member (after staying 14 nights with last year’s fast track offer) and a Qatar Airways Gold member (via 2020’s status match from Alaska Airlines), so, unfortunately, this fast track benefit is exactly useless to me.

If you are not an elite member of ALL, look out for a future Fast Track offer to ALL Platinum!
