With this offer, you and your partner can take turns to do daily check-ins at hotels to keep the costs of your award stays way down.

Unfortunately, this only works best in hotels with really cheap award rates.

Let’s take a look at an example of how this can be achieved at Hilton Garden Inn Bali.

  1. Book alternating 1-night stays with your partner. This hotel has a very consistent award rate of 5,000 points per night.
  2. Take turns to do daily check-in and out. In my experience, you do not have to physically move out of the room. You can usually just walk to the front desk daily to update the key cards. Some hotels were even able to extend our key cards for the whole stay and automatically process the check-ins and outs every day!
  3. During this promotion, you will have 2,000 points returned to your account after every weekday checkout. This means that members without status can stay in the hotel for just 3,000 points per night with 2-Player Mode.
  4. Diamond members receive 500 welcome points every stay. This will bring your nett nightly rate to just 2,500 points per night (worth US$10). If you have Hilton Gold status, you can choose to receive complimentary breakfast or 500 welcome points per stay.
  5. Hilton members receive 10,000 additional points upon reaching 30 nights and for every 10 additional nights after that. If you can accumulate that number of nights in the offer period, this can bring your nett nightly rate to just 1,500 points (worth US$6) per night!

If you do not currently have enough Hilton points for a redemption, you may also buy Hilton points for 0.5 cents (USD) each, to stay in the hotel for just US$15 a night!

Is this a good offer?

Hilton Honors usually rotates fairly between spend-based and fixed-points promotions. However, it is nice that we have both this time round!

Unlike other hotel loyalty programs like World of Hyatt and Marriott Bonvoy, they run their global promotions back-to-back. 💯

However, award rates are Hilton Honors properties are continuing to increasing at an alarming rate and there are not many good redemption opportunities at good value. This makes the 2X offer for paid stays an awful one, giving you only up to 12% value.

Here are some examples of good award redemptions:

Bottom line

Hilton Honors is running both spend-based and fixed-points promotions this time round. Because of ever-increasing award rates, the 2X offer is an awful one and will not lead me to spending more paid nights in Hilton hotels.

However, this offer period presents a great opportunity to visit Bali and stay in Hilton Garden Inn Bali at a bargain!
