My favourite travel destination, New Zealand, is finally opening up and we are once again seeing decent flight prices from Singapore.
These are normal fares, not a “deal”
Although these fares are no longer insane, I would only call them a deal when they go below S$850. As a comparison, we were seeing sub-S$800 fares (on Qantas) from Singapore to some New Zealand cities before the pandemic and I am hoping that they will return soon.

Flight prices to New Zealand
At the moment, I am only seeing decent fares on Air New Zealand.
These flight prices can be found for travel from August to November 2022 (Winter to Spring).
To find dates with these fares, I recommend using Google Flights and searching with flexible dates.
City | Lowest fare |
---|---|
Auckland | S$989 |
Christchurch | S$997 |
Can you use miles to fly to New Zealand?
Redeeming 62,000 Krisflyer miles for a one-way Business Class is a Singapore Airlines Krisflyer sweet spot, in my view. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to find “saver” award availability between Singapore and New Zealand in the coming months.

Is New Zealand open? How can I enter?
Yes, New Zealand is now open for fully-vaccinated tourists from visa-waiver countries. Visit this official page for the most up-to-date steps, including testing requirements.
Bottom line
Air fares for flights between Singapore and New Zealand are returning to pre-pandemic levels. While these are not “must-buy” fares, you will not feel like you’ve been robbed, after paying for them.
Very good info
