Review: Ahlan Lounge Dubai Airport Terminal 3

Opening hours: 24 hours
Time of visit: 9.30pm
Occupancy: 10%
Location: Airside. Take the lift upstairs near Gate B26.
Entry type: Free via Priority Pass from Citibank Prestige Mastercard

As of today, Dubai International Airport has a total of 13 Priority Pass lounges and 8 of them are in Terminal 3. I’ve read lots of great reviews on Ahlan Lounge and decided to check it out this time.

The lounge shares the same space as Cadiz Tapas Bar. Coming from The Gallery lounge, I could immediately understand why Ahlan Lounge is so popular among travellers! Decor is beautiful and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive.

My only complaint was that this lounge lacked a business center. You’d have to head somewhere else if you have some printing to do.

There was a quiet area where no food and drinks are allowed.

Food had to be ordered via an e-menu that can be viewed by scanning a QR code on the table. I don’t know about you, but to me, à la carte beats buffet anytime!

As I was already feeling full from the food that I had at the previous lounge, I only ordered deserts this time. And they were delicious!

Bottom line

As my boarding gate was 20 minutes’ walk away, I, unfortunately, only had 15 minutes to spend in this lounge. If I knew better, I would have skipped The Gallery lounge and came straight to this one! I haven’t been to enough Priority Pass lounges in this airport but it is definitely one of the better ones that I’ve been to, anywhere in the world.

The most expensive toilet I pay for in my life: I walked into this place a few minutes before I got on the plane to see the staff are not friendly, they don’t smile, they don’t understand the word welcome, there is the Filipino employee is not very tactful, I even told them if my mastercard card will deduct my entry fare, no I want to get in, but they didn’t care until I got a bill from the bank that they cut $50 to enter this masquerade that day.

Beware this place even though I’ve been to it many times over the past 10 years.
