Location
The hotel is located next to the iconic Bundaran roundabout on Jalan M.H. Thamrin. It is also directly connected to Plaza Indonesia mall.

Arrival
Upon arrival, we had our body temperatures taken and were assisted with our luggages before being directed to the reception.
I noticed extensive renovation work being done to the lobby area but there wasn’t much noise throughout my stay.
I had booked the base King room and was upgraded to the newly-renovated Capital Suite (upon request) as a Globalist member.
Capital Suite
Room 2011 is 100sqm / 1,076sqft in size.
This newly-renovated suite is the second-highest room category in the hotel at the moment. There is a ‘Capital Suite Bundaran View’ with a great view of the roundabout. The Grand Suite (lower category) is also newly-renovated.
Considering the limitations of an old building, I think this suite was very well furnished! Although, I would have loved a fully-carpeted suite.

Grand Club Lounge
The Grand Club Lounge is undergoing renovation too but it didn’t stop me from staying in this hotel as I was told about the generous club lounge replacement for Globalist members!
Instead of the usual afternoon tea and hors d’oeuvre in the lounge, I was offered the following:
Afternoon tea
Drinks and snacks at Grand Cafe or Fountain Lounge from 3.30 to 4.30pm.
We went to Fountain Lounge for the afternoon tea but was served by a really unfriendly staff, which is abnormal in Indonesia! We then moved to Grand Cafe instead. We had a choice of local snacks, coffee/tea and fresh juices on top of that.
Hors d’oeuvre
Hors d’oeuvre replacement was served at Grand Cafe from 6 to 8pm. We could order 1 starter, 1 main, 1 dessert and unlimited drinks. And this includes the beef tenderloin that costs IDR 450k++ each! That’s about S$52 nett. 🤯
Here’s the lunch and dinner menu at Grand Cafe:

Breakfast is served at Grand Cafe restaurant from 6 to 10.30am and is complimentary for Globalist members. We had the option of having it sent to the room and went for that option!
Food quality was great.
