Ascott Star Rewards (ASR) is running weekly flash sales from 12 July to 24 September 2021 for stays up till 31 October 2021.
I remember sharing a very misleading ASR flash sale in 2019.
However, looking at the current sale in selected cities, there looks to be actual discounts from the lowest prepaid rates.

How much are ASR points worth?
Unlike points from other hotel loyalty programs that use award charts, ASR points have a fixed value that can be redeemed directly when making a reservation.
Besides that, you do not need to accumulate a lot of points for a redemption. A minimum of just 100 ASR points is enough to offset the cash rate of your hotel booking.
1 ASR point is worth 0.25 cents (SGD)
So, those 1,400 free ASR points are worth S$3.50. Nothing to shout about, but hey, we all love free points, don’t we?
ASR Status match
I’ve recently done a status match from World of Hyatt Globalist to Ascott Star Rewards’ top-tier Platinum status. ASR only took 1 day to process the request!
You may also request for a status match from other hotel loyalty programs like Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors.
To request for a status match, send an email to [email protected] with the following information:
- Full name
- ASR membership email address
- Proof of existing status with the other loyalty program (screenshot of membership dashboard or member card with showing name and member ID)
- Proof of stay within the last 18 months (with the other loyalty program)

Is ASR a good hotel loyalty program?
Ascott Star Rewards is not a good hotel loyalty program. Don’t expect complimentary breakfasts (except in Europe) or suite upgrades, even as a Platinum member.
Good if you can get a status match, but definitely not worth going out of your way to maintain that status.
