Hyatt Place Dubai Jumeirah opened in late 2019 and is the newest of the 4 Hyatt Place hotels in Dubai. Having stayed at Hyatt Place Wasl for 8 nights, I will be comparing this hotel directly against that.
Location
Although this hotel has “Jumeirah” in its name, it is not exactly located in Jumeirah. The hotel is located in Al Mina, just north of Jumeirah. There are no malls or metro stations within walking distance. Other than the supermarket nearby, there really wasn’t anything in the area.
If you are hotel-hopping in Dubai like me, you’ll be happy to know that the Hilton Garden Inn next door offers free use of the self-service laundry for staying guests of that property.

Arrival
This was my first stay as a lowly Discoverist member. As with most hotels in Dubai, payment had to be made during check-in.
The corridor to the room looked premium and identical to that of Hyatt Place Wasl.
As a Discoverist member, I received a 2pm late check out. I requested for a 4pm check out (as I had a late night flight out) and was pleasantly surprised that it was granted!
The room
Room 427 looked very premium and almost exactly like Hyatt Place Wasl too. I actually preferred the room in this hotel as the windows are a lot bigger and they can be opened for fresh air. That’s a huge plus for me.
On top of that, the chair had wheels!
Best rooms
In general, I always ask for a room on the highest floor possible and it must not be a connecting room (less noise).
The best rooms are probably the corner ones, 404, 405, 415 and 416. Mine, room 427, is located next to the suites and is quite private too.
Breakfast
Breakfast is complimentary for staying guests in all Hyatt Place properties. Breakfast was served as assisted buffet at Focus Restaurant from 6.30am till 10.30am. It was pretty crowded on my first morning but a new law got passed later that day, requiring further social distancing during breakfast. For this reason, breakfast was extended till 11.30am and it was much less crowded!
The buffet selection was good for a Hyatt Place brand and there was cook-to-order eggs too. You could also order Cappuccino or Latte instead of just black coffee at Hyatt Place Wasl.
Shuttle service
The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to La Mer beach once a day. It leaves the hotel at around 10am and returns at around 3pm. I don’t know about you but that’s probably the worst time to go to the beach. As La Mer beach is only 6 mins’ drive away, getting a Careem Taxi there wouldn’t cost more than AED 15 and you’ll enjoy the beach more, closer to sunset!

Bottom line
The location of this hotel is its weakest point. I also found that the housekeeping staff were not trying to talk and work quietly at the corridor.
Other than those points above, I much preferred this property than Hyatt Place Wasl as the room had more life, breakfast quality was better and there was hardly any road noise.
I feel that this is worth mentioning as the difference was pretty obvious: For some reason, this hotel attracts friendlier staying guests. This gave me better experiences (less rowdy and shouting) at breakfast and while using other facilities like the gym and pool.
I would definitely pick this hotel if nightly rates are not too far off the other Hyatt Place properties in Dubai.
