You may cancel your bookings for free up till 31 August 2020 or one day before check-in. No prepayment is required and you will pay directly at the hotel at check out. Guests will also receive a 30% discount on F&B.

DoubleTree Melaka $64
DoubleTree Johor Bahru $65
DoubleTree Penang $68
Hilton Kuala Lumpur $72
Hilton Kota Kinabalu $74

The nightly rates above are mostly available up till 31 August 2020. Rates from September to December 2020 are not amazing but are still below those from pre-covid days.

The outstanding deal is Hilton Kuala Lumpur for $72 a night. I spent a week in this hotel last year and always felt like I was in a Conrad. The daily sunset views from the Executive Lounge at the top floor is always impressive. I also particularly loved the complimentary gym classes.

Hilton Petaling Jaya at $53 deserves an honourable mention!

Conclusion

I am always in on risk-free deals like these. Because of its flexibility, this is definitely more attractive than most prepaid voucher deals that we have been seeing in the past weeks.

You may have read about the interest from authorities in Singapore and Malaysia on allowing quarantine-free travel between the two countries. Note that nothing is confirmed just yet and there wasn’t any timeline given.

The only thing holding me back from doing a long stay at Hilton Kuala Lumpur is the Executive Lounge experience that will probably be affected by the current COVID-19 situation. But hey, free cancellation. Another easy deal to jump on!

  1. Hilton KL’s executive lounge is a huge disappointment when compared to the Le Meridien one. Avoided the Hilton like a plague ever since. It could be an isolated incidence but a quick search on flyertalk and TripAdvisor corroborates my view. With Le Meridien you get meal replacement equivalents, whereas at Hilton you get cheap carbs. Choose wisely!

    • That’s interesting. It is definitely one of the better ones that I’ve been to. The one at Le Meridien must be really good. I’ll hop over for a few nights when I’m there. Do you remember when it was (your stay)?
