Amazing Deal: Round trip Business Class Manila to Europe on Etihad from $1,868

Etihad is running a really good deal for round trip Business Class flights departing Manila into European cities with a stopover in Abu Dhabi. There is very good availability up till November 2020! Here are some of the European cities available in this deal:

Seat types

Etihad has different Business Class seats depending on which plane you are in. Flights to/from Manila will be on a Boeing 777-300 which features older Business Class seats like the one below.

If you would like to try out the newer Business Class seat like the one below, you will need to fly on a Boeing 787 or A380. Etihad flies the B787 or A380 to/from most European cities. You can easily check the plane type for each route on Google Flights itself.

How to find and book

As usual, I recommend using Google Flights to search for flights. Refer to this article that I recently wrote if you are not sure about how to use Google Flights. Once you have found available dates, I recommend booking directly with Etihad.

Positioning to Manila

If you are based in Singapore, you will need to book flights to and from Manila separately. You can find round trip flights on Scoot for around $267 (including 20kg checked baggage) consistently all year round. There are two Etihad flights leaving Manila daily. They are at 1755 and 0025 hours. Be sure to allow enough time for your manual transit in Manila as you will need to clear immigration, collect your luggage and check-in to your Etihad flight.

Free stopover in Abu Dhabi

Etihad has a lovely free stopover program for passengers flying with them. If you are flying in Business, First or Residence, you will be entitled to enjoy the premium stopover package for two complimentary nights in a 5-star hotel. That’s easily a $500 value and trust me, you will have a hard time choosing because it is quite a list! To enjoy this free stopover, all you have to do is book your flights as a multi-city itinerary like the one below.

Where to credit

With this promo fare, you will be booked into fare class ‘Z’. You will have quite a number of Frequent Flyer Programs to choose from. If you choose to credit to Etihad Guest, you will receive about 16,000 miles. This is enough for round trip flights from Singapore to Koh Samui on Bangkok Airways.

To recap, you will get to fly in a lie-flat Business Class seat for a distance of 14,000 miles, get 2 free nights in a 5-star hotel in Abu Dhabi, get enough miles for a future round trip flights to Koh Samui and 2% cashback with Rebate Mango. That is pretty incredible even after considering the cost of your positioning flights. As a comparison, Etihad is charging over $3,400 for similar flights departing Singapore. This is as close as it gets to an error fare!
