It is not uncommon to see flights to European cities going under $800. Today, I will explain how you can squeeze $380 worth of miles out of this offer to make it even better and to fund part of your next vacation! And yes, you will be flying the new Airbus A350-900 for the long leg between Singapore and Helsinki.

This deal is available with good availability from January to March 2020 to the following cities: Paris, Frankfurt, Berlin, Oslo, Helsinki, Vienna, Prague and Copenhagen. Deal ends on 2 December 2019.

The strategy

  1. Sign up for an account with Alaska Airline’s Mileage Plan Frequent Flyer Program if you don’t already have one. It is free.

  2. If you have a DBS Altitude Visa, you will be receiving 6 miles per dollar (4,794 miles worth $80) if you book through this Expedia link. If not, book directly at finnair.com/sg-en.

  3. Upon booking, enter your Alaska Frequent Flyer number. As you will be booked into fare class ‘Z’, you will receive about 13,500 Alaska miles worth $300 after completing your flights. You can use 12,500 of these miles to redeem for a one-way flight from Singapore to Asian cities as far as Japan on Cathay Pacific.

And that is it! Enjoy your European Winter/Spring and flight to Japan. Cherry Blossoms, maybe?
