Four Points by Sheraton Bali, Ungasan is a new Category 4 property under Marriott Bonvoy that opened its doors (all 270 of them) in October 2019. This property was rebranded from Golden Tulip Bay View and Aston Ungasan before that. There has been some minor renovations over the years.
I used two of my Suite Night Awards for this stay and was approved for the Executive Suite with room number 976 which is 925 sq ft (86 sq m) in size.
Arrival
Check in was quick and easy. I was brought up to the suite in no time. I found out that there are no rooms facing Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), which is one of the tallest statues in the world.

The suite (Executive Suite)
Breakfast is held at Evolution Restaurant & Bar at level 5. The breakfast timing is 0700 – 1000 hours. The breakfast spread was okay for a hotel at this price point.
Shuttle service
The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to Roosterfish Beach Club at 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600 and 1800 hours. It also offers return transport from Roosterfish Beach Club aat 1100, 1300, 1500, 1700 and 1900 hours. On top of that, there is also shuttle service to GWK at 1100 and back at 1600 hours.

What I disliked about this property
- Early breakfast cut-off time of 1000 hours
- No place to put your toiletries in the shower. I had to reach down to the floor to use my shampoo and body wash.
Conclusion
It is the most affordable Marriott Bonvoy property in the southern region of Bali. This can be a nice base for you to explore the Uluwatu area as it is right in the middle. There is nothing much within walking distance from the hotel but you can reach restaurants or convenience stores by Grab within minutes. As the hotel is not running on full occupancy, I was given a 6 p.m. check out as I have a late night flight. That’s enough time to post this blog before officially completing my stay!

This actually really helps as I’ve just changed a booking from the Four Points Kuta, to this one! I’ve stayed at the other FP Kuta earlier this year and had a great time, but this time of year the price point is over 1.7x what I paid. However, this “new” property is a great price. I booked the lowest grade of room, presuming they were low on occupancy. I emailed the hotel directly to arrange airport transfer and asked about suite; instantly put me in the Exec Suite! So I’ve been looking for pictures. Thanks for the info
