Trust Cashback Card Nerf: No Free Overseas ATM Withdrawals

Previously seen as one of the best credit cards in Singapore, the Trust Cashback Card just had another key “hidden” feature quietly nerfed.

No free overseas ATM withdrawals

As flagged by XY in Suitesmile Chat, using the Trust Cashback Card to withdraw cash from the Trust Savings Account through overseas ATMs is no longer possible. This was later confirmed by members Kyr (X) and L, and I’ve also tested it out myself. Upon selecting Savings Account on an overseas ATM, the transaction was automatically cancelled and the card ejected.

Since I had my Trust Link Card with me, I immediately tried to withdraw the same amount with it, and it worked as expected. So, it’s clear that this issue is isolated to the Trust Cashback Card.

To be fair, Trust Bank never openly advertised free overseas ATM withdrawals as a benefit of the Trust Cashback Card.

Here’s a detailed look at the Trust Cashback Card:

Cash advance fee now chargeable

The Trust Cashback Card launched in 2024 with no cash advance fee, but this changed on 1 Feb 2026. Cardholders are now charged an 8% fee on the cash advance amount (via ATM cash withdrawals not from Savings Account) on top of a personalised interest rate of 18.9% to 29.9% per annum (calculated daily).

✍️ View your personalised interest rate in the Trust app: Credit cards > Consolidated/View balance, or Credit cards > More.

Alternatives for overseas ATM withdrawals

Naturally, the Trust Link Card + Trust Savings Account pairing is your next-best option for fee-free, unlimited overseas ATM withdrawals. Yes, it’s one additional physical card to carry around on your travels, but it’s good to know that there’s no annual fee or minimum balance to think about.

The Trust Link Card is available as a debit or credit card:

  • Trust Link Debit Card: Get it when you only apply for a Trust Savings Account, no income requirement.
  • Trust Link Credit Card: Get it when you apply for a Trust Savings Account + a Trust Link Credit Card, with income requirement.

👍 Both the debit and credit versions can be used for free, unlimited overseas ATM withdrawals. Simply maintain enough money in your Trust Savings Account and select Savings Account on the ATM screen (i.e. not Current Account, not Credit Card, not Cash Advance).

✍️ Additional step for Trust Link Credit Card: For this to work, you need to pair your card with your savings account via the Trust app.

  1. trust debit card is my absolute go-to overseas when i travel (along with amaze+citirewards) and maybank world mastercard.
wise, revolut, youtrip free-withdrawal limits are too restrictive
also i find that overseas many merchants have rather unexpected MCCs rendering specialised dining cards pretty ineffective e.g. in taiwan, japan, korea
