As part of the government’s support for families, S$500 in Child LifeSG Credits (CLC) will be disbursed to every eligible Singaporean child born between 2014 and 2025 (0 to 12 years). These credits are meant to help families offset household expenses.
As shared in the latest official update, eligible Singaporean children will receive the credits from Tuesday, 14 July 2026.
Unfortunately, the disbursement is not provided in cash, but the good news is that it is possible to withdraw the entire amount in cash with some simple steps.

Where and when will the S$500 be credited?
The S$500 Child LifeSG Credits (CLC) are disbursed automatically to the LifeSG app of the child’s parent or Child Development Account (CDA) trustee from 14 July 2026; no application is needed.
Here is the official disbursement timeline:
- Children born between 2014 and 2025: Receive credits in LifeSG app from 14 July 2026
- Children born in 2026: Credits to be disbursed in April 2027
The government will send an SMS notification once the credits are in your account. You can also use the official eligibility checker to confirm.
⚠️ “To safeguard against scams, SMS notifications sent to parents will only be from “gov.sg”. The SMS notifications will only contain information on the disbursement status and related terms and conditions. Trustees will not be asked to reply to the SMS or provide personal information. CDA trustees should ensure that the mobile number in their Singpass profile is up to date to receive these notifications.”

You can download the LifeSG app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
How to cash out your S$500 Child LifeSG credits
Follow these simple steps to withdraw your S$500 Child LifeSG Credits directly into your bank account.
The entire process shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. Please take your time to ensure the steps are followed carefully.
1) Check if the credits are in
The S$500 credits are paid out to the Child Development Account (CDA) Trustee. This is the parent who officially opened the child’s CDA, so the credits will only appear in one parent’s LifeSG app.
Log in to your LifeSG app. On the home screen, scroll down and look for a “Child LifeSG Credits” card showing the S$500 balance. If you have more than 1 eligible child, you should see a higher balance ($1,000 for 2 eligible children).
If you don’t see the credits, get your spouse to check their LifeSG app. It is very likely they are the designated trustee and the funds will be in their account.
2) Check if you have a YouTrip account
It may be possible to cash out through other methods, but I found this YouTrip method to be the simplest way to cash out the entire amount with no fees.
Firstly, of course, you’ll need a YouTrip account. If you don’t have one, you may sign up for one using my link to receive an additional S$5.
3) Get the PayNow QR code from YouTrip
Now that you’ve received the credits, it’s time to cash them out!
Complete these steps to get your PayNow QR code from YouTrip:
- Open your YouTrip app
- Tap on Top Up
- Enter the top-up amount (anything up to S$500)
- Tap on Generate QR Code
- When you see the QR code, tap on Save to Photos, or screenshot it
Note: The screenshots below show an amount of S$200, but you can transfer out the entire amount (S$500, or S$1,000 if you have 2 eligible kids) if you want.

4) Top up YouTrip wallet with LifeSG credits
Now that you’ve saved the PayNow QR code from YouTrip, follow these steps to open the PayNow QR code in LifeSG:
- Open your LifeSG app, and scroll all the way down
- Tap on Child LifeSG Credits
- Double-check your balance, and tap on Scan QR code to pay
- Tap on the gallery icon to select the QR code image that you have saved from YouTrip (be sure to select the correct image!)

Next, follow these steps to complete the top-up:
- Check that the LifeSG app recognizes the QR code with the correct organization name (YOUTECH) and amount
- Slide to Confirm the payment
- Look out for the payment successful message
- Check your YouTrip wallet balance (the top-up should be instantaneous)

5) Transfer the money from YouTrip to your bank account
You’re almost done!
Follow these steps to choose the amount to transfer from your YouTrip wallet to your bank account:
- On the YouTrip home screen, tap on Transfer
- Tap on Withdraw to Own Account
- Enter the amount to withdraw
- Tap on Select Transfer Method

Next, follow these steps to move the money from your YouTrip wallet to your bank account:
- Choose the method to transfer your funds from your YouTrip wallet
- Check the transfer amount and Slide to Transfer
- Check that you have received the amount in your bank account

Hope that helped!
