20,000 renewal miles for paying the annual fee

From 25 Jun 2026, the Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card offers a renewal bonus of 50,000 360° Rewards Points (equivalent to 20,000 KrisFlyer miles) on each card anniversary upon payment of the non-waivable annual fee of S$599.50 (incl 9% GST).

Previously, paying the Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card’s annual fee earned no miles, giving cardholders little to no reason to keep it.

Note: Any subsequent cancellation of the card will result in the renewal bonus being reversed.

How the renewal miles compare

Here’s how the Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card’s renewal miles compare against other premium/luxury miles cards in Singapore (i.e. high income requirement and/or non-waivable high annual fee).

Even with the new miles, the card still bundles fewer than the same-priced DBS Vantage. On the plus side, Standard Chartered’s miles never expire.

Is the Standard Chartered Visa Infinite good?

The Standard Chartered Visa Infinite Card is marketed as a “premium” card with a higher-than-usual annual fee of S$599.50 and a minimum annual income of S$150,000.

Cardholders get a lousy (but uncapped) earn rate of 1 mpd on all spending in any currency, which can be boosted to 1.4 and 3 mpd on SGD and foreign currency spending respectively, if you spend at least S$2,000 in a statement month.

Those are seriously unimpressive earn rates; not a good miles credit card to spend with, unless you regularly spend tens of thousands of dollars on foreign currencies every month to enjoy the uncapped 3 mpd earn rate and don’t mind the higher-than-usual FX junk fee of 3.5%.

Remember: the best miles credit cards are those with a 4 mpd earn rate.

Standard Chartered points are also less flexible as they can only be transferred to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer and Cathay Pacific Asia Miles.

Cardholders get 6 free airport lounge visits per card membership year, just a little better than other credit cards with lower, waivable annual fees.

The 20,000 renewal miles now offset a good portion of the annual fee, but the weak earn rate and flexibility remain the catch.
