UOB has announced a new benefit for UOB PRVI Miles AMEX cardholders to earn bonus miles when they meet the quarterly minimum spending requirement.
In related news, UOB has also extended the card’s up to 8 mpd Agoda booking perk into 2027.

5,000 bonus miles per quarter on overseas spend
From 1 Jul 2026, UOB PRVI Miles American Express cardholders who charge at least S$8,000 of in-person overseas spend within a calendar quarter earn 5,000 bonus miles (UNI$2,500) for that quarter, on top of the card’s usual earn rate.
| Quarter | Spending Period |
|---|---|
| Q1 | Jan – Mar |
| Q2 | Apr – Jun |
| Q3 | Jul – Sep |
| Q4 | Oct – Dec |
Unfortunately, this new benefit applies only to the American Express variant of the PRVI Miles Card (not Mastercard or Visa). AMEX cards generally have less merchant acceptance worldwide.
Both Principal and Supplementary card spend count toward the S$8,000 threshold, but only the Principal cardholder receives the bonus.
UOB credits the bonus within two months after each quarter ends.
This overseas spend also counts toward the S$50,000 a year that unlocks the separate 20,000-mile loyalty bonus and the annual fee waiver.
Remember: UOB PRVI Miles AMEX Card had its airport limo benefit removed from 1 Apr 2026.
Effective earn rate after bonus miles
With the bonus miles from this promo, UOB PRVI Miles AMEX cardholders effectively increase their overall earn rates, provided the minimum spending is met. As the bonus is fixed at 5,000 miles, the effective earn rate will, of course, drop if you continue spending on the card beyond S$8,000 in that quarter.
Across all four quarters, the bonus is worth up to 20,000 miles a year on S$32,000 of in-person overseas spend.
| Base Earn Rate | Total Miles (S$8k spend) | Effective Earn Rate |
|---|---|---|
| 2.4 mpd | 24,200 | ~3.03 mpd |
| 3 mpd (MYR, IDR, THB, VND) | 29,000 | ~3.63 mpd |
Things to look out for
- Only in-person overseas spending using the physical card counts. Online, phone, app or QR payments made while abroad, such as for ride-hailing, food delivery and in-store mobile wallet or QR payments, do not count.
- American Express is less accepted worldwide (outside the US) than Visa or Mastercard, so you may not always be able to pay with it in person abroad. You may have better luck transacting at international brands like Marriott, Prada and Rolex.
- Overseas purchases billed in Singapore dollars (dynamic currency conversion) do not count.
- UOB looks at the posting date of your transactions, not the transaction date. To be safe, meet the minimum spending requirement at least 3-4 days before the end of the quarter, so that the transactions are posted on time.
Continue earning 8 mpd on Agoda
UOB has extended the PRVI Miles Agoda perk. Cardholders earn up to 8 mpd on eligible Agoda hotel bookings made through the dedicated agoda.com/prvimiles link, with Japan hotels excluded.
To qualify, complete your booking by 15 Aug 2027 (previously 31 Aug 2026) and your stay by 15 Nov 2027 (previously 30 Nov 2026).
I treat these Agoda bonus-mile promos as a last resort. Rates on the dedicated links can be inflated, and the bonus miles do not always credit automatically.
They are worth considering mainly for chain hotels that are usually excluded from instant OTA discounts, though chain hotels are often cheaper booked directly, where loyalty perks and hotel points also apply.
Here are the advertised earn rates on Agoda bookings with a UOB PRVI Miles Card:
| Agoda Spend Type | Base Earn Rate | Bonus Miles | Total Earn Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local (SGD) | 1.4 mpd | 5.6 mpd | 7 mpd |
| Overseas (foreign currency) | 2.4 mpd | 5.6 mpd | 8 mpd |
Is the UOB PRVI Miles Card good?
As noted in my review of the UOB PRVI Miles Card, this is one of the worst miles cards in Singapore to spend with.
This card has low earn rates (compared to 4 mpd cards), a higher-than-usual annual fee that doesn’t come with any miles and UOB’s automatic deduction of UNI$ to cover it.
On top of that, transactions under S$5 earn zero miles, miles expire in 2 years, there are only 2 miles transfer partners to choose from, and there is a foreign transaction fee of 3.25%.
The card’s main draw is the 4 complimentary airport lounge visits a year and niche uses for buying miles. For better peace of mind, pick a stronger miles card to spend with, even if the earn rate is slightly lower.
With this promo, cardholders who spend S$8,000 in a calendar quarter in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam can earn an effective rate of about 3.6 mpd, which is pretty good. But that’s provided you’re able to find merchants in those countries that accept AMEX cards.
