DBS Points Purchase Programme: Buy Miles from 2 Cents Each

DBS is offering credit cardholders the opportunity to buy up to 500,000 miles from as little as 2 cents each through cards that earn DBS points.

This is similar to the DBS promo that ran from Aug to Sep 2025.

DBS points flexibility

DBS cards only have 3 useful transfer partners:

  1. Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  2. Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
  3. Qantas Frequent Flyer

So, by buying miles through DBS cards, you’re essentially doing so to convert to miles on these frequent flyer programs.

Points earned/purchased on the DBS Altitude Card do not expire, however, those on the DBS Vantage Card expire after 3 years and only 1 year on the DBS Woman’s World Card. So, the DBS Altitude Card is clearly the best card to use for this promo.

Psst...check out the latest credit card sign-up promos for July 2026:

Is this a good deal?

This is a no-questions-asked method of buying miles, so it should be compared to similar miles sales, instead of bill-payment services like Citi PayAll, CardUp or ipaymy.

However, I should point out that the UOB Payment Facility is a bill-payment service that doesn’t actually require a bill as proof. For just 1.8 cents each, it is clearly a better deal than this DBS Points Purchase Programme; unless you have no DBS cards or need Qantas points.

Buying miles, even at the promo’s lowest price of 2 cents each, is 33% more expensive than my valuation of KrisFlyer and Asia Miles. As always, travellers are advised to buy miles only when they have a near-term plan to redeem them.

The Miles Game isn’t just about earning miles fast and buying miles cheap. All those efforts can be quickly negated if you make poor-value award redemptions or allow the miles to expire without use. Miles-chasers are encouraged to always have an award redemption goal rather than buying/accumulating miles blindly/speculatively.

Flight redemptions with DBS points

Since the cost per mile is clear, it’s easy to calculate whether this promo is worth it to you, depending on what you’re redeeming the miles for.
