HSBC Revolution Card Promo: 16,800 Miles Sign-Up Bonus

HSBC is running a limited-time sign-up promotion for the HSBC Revolution Card, which I currently see as one of the best Miles credit cards in Singapore.

The HSBC Revolution Card has been significantly improved as of 1 April 2026, awarding 4 or 8 miles per dollar on useful spending categories.

⚠️ Required: HSBC Cash Instalment Plan

To qualify for the HSBC Revolution Card’s sign-up bonus, HSBC (annoyingly) also requires you to sign up for a new HSBC Cash Instalment Plan by the end of the calendar month following your card approval month. The minimum loan amount is S$5,000, with a minimum loan tenure of one year.

The HSBC Cash Instalment Plan is a loan facility that allows you to turn your credit card’s available credit limit into cash, with chargeable interest.

If you find this condition too troublesome, consider the HSBC Revolution Card’s SingSaver-fulfilled sign-up promo instead, to receive S$400 cash or a gift worth S$799.

Is the HSBC Revolution Card good?

I see the HSBC Revolution Card as one of the best Miles credit cards in Singapore for the following reasons:

  1. Solid earn rate of 4 mpd (or 8 mpd with S$50k deposit) on useful spending categories:
  2. No annual fee, ever
  3. Access to 7 useful frequent flyer programs (FFPs)
  4. Free miles/points conversions to FFPs
  5. Instant miles/points conversions to useful FFPs

However, to extract maximum value from the HSBC Revolution Card, you’ll need adequate knowledge beyond KrisFlyer, as the conversion ratio to that program is poor. As compared to other useful FFPs, you’ll receive 17% fewer miles when converting HSBC points to KrisFlyer miles; effectively dropping your 4 mpd earn rate to 3.3 mpd.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of transactions qualify for the minimum spending requirements?
Retail spending for goods and services is the safest way to guarantee that you meet the minimum spending requirement, and receive the advertised sign-up bonuses. This includes dining, groceries, ride-hailing, food delivery, online or in-person shopping, flight and hotel spending.

⚠️ Transactions that may not qualify include: Phone bills, business/professional services (Google/Facebook ads), hospital/clinic bills.

❌ Transactions that will not qualify include: Utility bills, school fees, e-wallet top-ups and payments to financial institutions (e.g. banks, brokerages).

Please refer to each card’s terms and conditions for the full list of exclusions.

What if I have difficulty meeting the minimum spending requirements?
The simplest, tried-and-tested way to meet a credit card minimum spending requirement is by purchasing supermarket vouchers at NTUC Fairprice or Dairy Farm (Giant, Cold Storage) outlets.

These vouchers can be used for your grocery needs in future.

Definition of a new cardholder
A new cardholder of HSBC is someone who has not held a credit card (as a principal cardholder) issued by HSBC Singapore in the past 12 months.

If you had cancelled your last HSBC credit card more than 12 months ago, you will qualify as a new cardholder and can enjoy these sign-up bonuses.
