Qantas Award Search Tool: Find Oneworld Availability Fast

Qantas has launched a powerful new award search tool (called Flight Reward Finder), useful for finding award availability on Oneworld and partner airlines.

Qantas Flight Reward Finder

Qantas Flight Reward Finder allows miles chasers to search for award availability on Qantas, Jetstar, Oneworld airlines (e.g. Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways) and non-alliance partners (e.g. Emirates, China Airlines).

This free tool is beautifully designed and heavily loaded with superb features that are usually found on paid award search tools like seats.aero; and you don’t even need to log in to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account to use it.

Key features include:

  • View award availability up to 353 days ahead
  • Broad departure and arrival locations (e.g. search from Singapore to any airports in Europe)
  • View total seats available
  • Filter by cabin (e.g. Economy, Business, First)
  • Filter by total stops (e.g. direct or transit)
  • Sort results by date, duration and more
  • Calendar view of award availability (2 views)
  • When the availability was last checked

However, one key feature missing from this tool is the ability to choose the preferred airline (which may or may not be intentional 👀).

How to use

Using this award search tool is so easy that you can probably figure it out on your own.

For those who need help, here are the steps to search for award availability on Qantas Flight Reward Finder:

  1. Visit the Qantas Flight Reward Finder page (no login required).
  2. Enter your departure and arrival locations (countries, cities or regions)
  3. Enter preferred date/range or tap on ‘Any date’ to open calendar view
  4. Set filters like no. of stops, cabin and total passengers
  5. If not booking with Qantas points, repeat the search and book on other frequent flyer programs

As shared in Suitesmile Chat earlier, there are 6 First Class seats available for Japan Airlines direct flight from Singapore to Tokyo on 30 Mar 2026. This flight is bookable for just 53,000 Avios per person.

My take on this award tool

It’s refreshing to see Qantas launch such a useful award search tool for miles chasers, when some airlines choose to b*tch about such helpful tools or keep their search engines buggy for years (e.g. KrisFlyer’s First Class/Star Alliance search).

I’m a sucker for beautiful user interfaces, especially when they translate to awesome usability (and I’m proud of how I’ve polished Suitesmile’s credit card pages over the years, thanks to your feedback 🤓). Hats off to the team who designed this new tool; from the subtle shadows and borders to how the results are presented and expanded with information placed in the right areas with the perfect font sizes, colours, icons and contrasts. *chef’s kiss* 😙🤌

Except when searching for awards on airlines that release more seats on their own frequent flyer programs (e.g. Cathay Pacific Asia Miles), Qantas Flight Reward Finder will be my go-to award tool for Oneworld award availability.

However, let’s not forget that Qantas still releases extremely low award availability on international flights, and how ironic that this new tool is really only useful for checking non-Qantas award availability and booking with miles/points from other frequent flyer programs.

  1. Dear Fai,

Thank you for the very useful article as always. I do however have one question – although the Qantas award search tool tells you which airline/cabin class is available, how do you know which FFP make the booking with? In the post you made there is first class availability SIN to HND on JAL, but it doesn’t tell you that you have to make the booking with Finnair.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hear from you soon

  2. Hi Fai,

I have enjoyed your articles for a long time now. Do you notice that partner airline awards (e.g JAL to Japan) seems to never show up in Finnair plus even if they are available on BA. Finnair plus may offer an indirect route via Helsinki on their own metal but never shows JAL direct from SIN.
