Guide: Earn Miles on Airbnb stays

Aside from the occasional promos, it is pretty much impossible to double-dip on Airbnb bookings through shopping portals like ShopBack and TopCashback. However, it is still possible to earn miles on Airbnb stays through frequent flyer programs (FFPs).

How to earn miles on Airbnb bookings

Here are some key points to note before double-dipping on Airbnb bookings:

  • Sign up for a free frequent flyer account to start earning miles
  • Your name on Airbnb must match the name on your frequent flyer account
  • Click through the dedicated link of any FFP below, before completing your booking on Airbnb’s website
  • Miles are not awarded on taxes and fees
  • Miles earned through this method is on top of what you get from credit cards

The British Airways Club

The British Airways Club members can earn 2 Avios per US Dollar (USD) on Airbnb bookings, which converts to around 1.6 Avios per SGD as of the time of this article.

If you are based in Singapore, BA Club is the obvious choice, as Avios can be transferred from Citibank and HSBC cards. On top of that, this FFP currently awards the higher number of miles per dollar, as compared to the other three featured on this page.

✍️ Avios is best for flights to/from Japan/South Korea, Europe and US/Canada.

Qantas Frequent Flyer

Qantas Frequent Flyer members can earn 1 point per Australian Dollar (AUD) on Airbnb bookings, which converts to around 1.1 point per SGD as of the time of this article.

In Singapore, Qantas FF is a transfer partner of Citibank, HSBC and DBS. However, the frequent flyer program doesn’t offer many good value redemption opportunities due to high rates and lack of award availability.

Delta SkyMiles

Delta SkyMiles members can earn 1 mile per US Dollar (USD) on Airbnb bookings, which converts to around 0.8 mile per SGD as of the time of this article.

Miles on this FFP do not expire, however, it is not a useful program for Singapore-based travellers as there are no credit card transfer partners in Singapore.

Click here to book Airbnb stays via Delta SkyMiles.

ANA Mileage Club

ANA Mileage Club members can earn 1 mile per 200 Japanese Yen (JPY) on Airbnb bookings, which converts to around 0.6 miles per SGD as of the time of this article.

ANA Mileage Club is also not a useful program for Singapore-based travellers, as there are no credit card transfer partners in Singapore.

Consider booking on other platforms

Airbnb is known to charge more fees than other platforms like Agoda and booking.com, and unfortunately, they are not very transparent with them, especially in the search results.

Travellers are advised to compare the prices for apartments on other online travel agencies (OTAs) to receive a 15 – 30% discount instantly.
