How many points will you get with a 2X bonus?
IHG members usually earn points on qualifying spend, excluding taxes/fees. This comes in the form of Base Points + Status Bonus Points + Promo Bonus Points.
With this promo, every member will receive 10 additional points per US Dollar (2X Base Points).

Unlike fixed-points offers, 2X offers like this are less exciting, as it awards a fair amount of bonus points, based on what you spend. Yes, this also means that award stays will not count.

I value IHG points at 0.5 cents (USD) each. At this valuation, I’d receive about 5% in additional value on my IHG stays during this promo period. This is not attractive enough to nudge me to stay in more IHG properties in the coming months, especially as it’ll only kick in from my second stay; but I’ll register just in case.

Promo terms and conditions
IHG shared the following terms and conditions for this promo.
To participate in the “2X Unlimited” Promotion (the “Promotion”), an individual must have an active, valid IHG One Rewards member account and must register for the Promotion. Members can pre-register for this Promotion starting on 9 December 2025 until 31 December 2025 (the “Pre-Registration Period”). Members will be able to stay and earn IHG One Rewards bonus points under this Promotion beginning on 1 January 2026 and ending on 31 March 2026 (the “Promotion Period”). Members who did not register during the Pre-Registration Period may register for the Promotion during the Promotion Period. A member can only register once. By registering for the Promotion, a member accepts these terms and conditions.
After registering for the Promotion, a member can earn 2X bonus points beginning on their second Qualifying Stay and each Qualifying Stay thereafter, with unlimited earning ability. For the purposes of this Promotion, a “Qualifying Stay” is defined as a minimum one (1) night stay at a participating hotel booked under a Qualifying Rate, with total spend exceeding US $30 (or local currency equivalent) for each night. As stated, the “Promotion Period” is from 1 January 2026 until 31 March 2026. Room nights outside of the Promotion Period are not included, and room nights that are part of a stay that was completed prior to registration for the Promotion also are not included. Stays booked using Rewards Nights or Points & Cash are not Promotion-Eligible Qualifying Stays for purposes of this Promotion. Bookings made through online travel agencies or other reservation sites such as booking.com or expedia.com also do not qualify under this Promotion. (For additional details on Qualifying Rates, please see the full IHG One Rewards membership terms and conditions.) If more than one member who registered for the Promotion checks into the same room, only one member is eligible to earn points under the Promotion for those nights that qualify. If a member books more than one room on the same night, the member will receive credit towards this Promotion for only one of the rooms that also meets the requirements of a qualifying room night under the Promotion.
For the 2X Unlimited Promotion, earning “2X” or “2X” bonus points starting on your second Qualifying Stay and every stay thereafter until 31 March 2026 means the total number of regular “base points” and promotional “bonus points” combined will equal two (2) times the base points the member would normally receive just for being an IHG One Rewards member. For example, for a one-night Qualifying Stay with a room rate of $100.00 at an IHG hotel with a 10 points per USD earn rate for base points, the member would earn 1,000 base points (10 points x $100 = 1,000 points) and an additional 1,000 promotional bonus points, for a total of 2,000 points. The promotional bonus points under this Promotion are calculated based solely on the base points the member is eligible to earn for a Qualifying Stay just for being an IHG One Rewards member, and any Elite Status bonus points or any other bonus or promotional points the member may be eligible to receive for the same stay are not included. Bonus points earned through this Promotion are not Elite Status qualifying under the IHG One Rewards programme. For instance, in the example above, the 1,000 base points would qualify for Elite Status, while the additional 1,000 promotional points would not.
A member’s participation in the IHG One Rewards programme and this Promotion is subject to the standard IHG One Rewards membership terms and conditions, which can be obtained here or by visiting ihgonerewards.com. IHG One Rewards benefits are generally available at all IHG® Hotels & Resorts and other partner hotels participating in the programme, with exceptions for the following brands:
• Six Senses® Hotels Resorts Spas: IHG One Rewards points may be earned or redeemed for stays but other benefits may not be available. (Note: Some hotels do not participate in IHG One Rewards.)
• Iberostar Beachfront Resorts: Members can now earn and redeem IHG One Rewards points for Reward Nights at participating Iberostar Beachfront Resorts. (The portfolio of Iberostar Beachfront Resorts excludes any interests in Cuba.)

IHG may withdraw points from a member’s account if they were deposited into the member’s account in error and may revoke all points in a member’s account if the member abuses the IHG One Rewards programme, including, but not limited to abuse of the point redemption process.
