Maybank Singapore has launched 2 new credit cards called the Maybank XL Rewards and Maybank XL Cashback Cards. These highly-rewarding cards are tailored towards youth between the ages of 21 and 39.
UPDATE 2.30pm 29 Jul 2025: The Maybank XL Cashback Card is meant to replace the Maybank DUO Platinum Card from 1 Aug 2025. Maybank has now taken down the application links of these cards, those who are interested may try to apply from 1 Aug 2025.

What are the Bonus Categories?
Both the Maybank XL Rewards and Maybank XL Cashback cards have identical bonus categories, where cardholders can earn 4 mpd or 5% cashback on.
Transactions that fall under any of the following Merchant Category Codes (MCCs) will qualify, unless if it’s in a foreign currency, where all categories qualify (except the usual exclusions).

Personalise your card
Cardholders will also receive a sticker sheet to personalise the card; you know, to remind you that you’re still a child. I’m (almost) too old to understand, but I tried to apply for this card earlier, as I’ll be over the age limit tomorrow. What are the odds of these cards launching 12 hours before you turn 40?! 😭
Update: I received both cards on 7 Aug 2025!
Conclusion
The Maybank XL Rewards Card offers a solid earn rate of 4 miles per dollar, while the Maybank XL Cashback Card offers an (also solid) earn rate of 5% cashback. However, check if you are able to meet the S$500 minimum monthly spending requirement comfortably, on the abovementioned spending categories.
With great miles and cashback earn rates, especially in the Travel category, I will look into placing these cards in Suitesmile’s lists of the best Miles and Cashback cards.
