Guide: How to withdraw your S$500 Child LifeSG credits in cash

As part of the government’s support for families, a one-off $500 in Child LifeSG Credits (CLC) will be disbursed for every eligible Singaporean child born between 2013 and 2024 (0 to 12 years old). These credits are meant to help families offset household expenses.

Unfortunately, the disbursement is not provided in cash, but the good news is that it is possible to withdraw the entire amount in cash with some simple steps.

Guide: How to Cash Out your $500 Child LifeSG Credits

Where will the $500 be credited to?

The one-off $500 Child LifeSG Credits (CLC) are disbursed directly to the LifeSG app of the child’s parent or Child Development Account (CDA) trustee. No application is needed.

As of today, 7 July 2025, the first batch of credits are being disbursed.

Here is the official disbursement timeline:

  • For children born between 2013 and 2024: You should receive the credits in your LifeSG app starting from the week of 7 July 2025.
  • For children born in 2025: The credits will be disbursed in April 2026.

An SMS notification will be sent by the government once the credits are in your account. You can also use the official eligibility checker to confirm.

You can download the LifeSG app on Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

How to cash out your $500 Child LifeSG credits

Follow these simple steps to withdraw your $500 Child LifeSG Credits directly into your bank account.

The entire process shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. Please take your time to ensure the steps are followed carefully.

1) Check if your $500 Child LifeSG credits are in

The $500 credits are paid out to the Child Development Account (CDA) Trustee. This is the parent who officially opened the child’s CDA, so the credits will only appear in one parent’s LifeSG app.

Log in to your LifeSG app. On the home screen, scroll down and look for a “Child LifeSG Credits” card showing the $500 balance. If you have more than 1 eligible child, you should see a higher balance ($1,000 for 2 eligible children).

If you don’t see the credits, get your spouse to check their LifeSG app. It is very likely they are the designated trustee and the funds will be in their account.

2) Check if you have a YouTrip account

It may be possible to cash out through other methods, but I found this YouTrip method to be the simplest way to cash out the entire amount with no fees.

Firstly, of course, you’ll need a YouTrip account. If you don’t have one, you may sign up for one using my link to receive an additional $5.

Note: The screenshots below show an amount of $200, but you can transfer out the entire amount ($500, or $1,000 if you have 2 eligible kids) if you want.
