Huge: HSBC EGA lowering GIRO cashback to 0.5%

HSBC has announced a cut to the cashback awarded on its Everyday+ Rewards Programme via the HSBC Everyday Global Account (EGA).

0.5% cashback

From 1 Aug 2025, HSBC EGA account holders can only enjoy 0.5% cashback on eligible GIRO transactions, down from 1%.

Thankfully, there are no new exclusions and monthly cashback caps remain at $300 for non-Premier customers, $500 for Premier customers.

No more interest on Renminbi

From 1 Aug 2025 also, interest will no longer be accrued on balances held in the Renminbi Everyday Global Account.
